Below is a copy of the "Certificate of Participation"
issued by Claus Mattheck in October 2000.
The one-day workshop was held at Lake Louise as part of the Canadian Urban Tree Conference.
Claus Mattheck has established himself as a world renowned expert in tree
mechanics with his studies focussing on branch junctions, root stability and wound
occlusion, including the axiom of uniform stress.
Dr. Mattheck is the co-author of a book published in 1994, titled The Body
Language of Trees: A Handbook for Failure Analysis. He
obtained his doctorate in theoretical physics in 1973 at the University of
Karlsruhe, Germany.
Obtaining this certificate is an example of our efforts to remain up-to-date
